World Environment Day on 5 June reminds us that protecting the environment is not only the responsibility of governments and society. Companies also have an important role to play in shaping the future we leave behind. This is particularly true within the construction and building services industries, where the systems we design, manufacture and operate have a significant impact on energy consumption, indoor environmental quality and the use of natural resources. This responsibility encourages us to make conscious decisions throughout our operations and to continuously look for ways to improve.

The entire life cycle matter

For us, a sustainable product means more than its efficient operation. It is equally important to understand a product's environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle, from raw materials, manufacturing, shipment to operation and end-of-life management. For this reason, an increasing number of our products are supported by EPDs. These declarations provide transparent and independently verified information about environmental performance across the full life cycle of a product, helping consultant engineers, contractors and building owners make informed decisions.

Reducing our environmental impact goes beyond the products we develop. It is reflected in how we manufacture, use energy and continuously improve our operations. Through ongoing investments in modern production equipment, process improvements and efficiency, we continuously reduce the energy required to run our operations. At the same time, our solar power systems help increase the share of renewable energy used across our facilities. 

Our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 50001 Energy Management System support the continuous measurement, evaluation and improvement of our environmental and energy performance.
